Berit Fischer DVM, DACVAA, CCRP, CVA

Dr. Fischer is a board-certified specialist in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia® who started with Eastern PA Veterinary Medical Center in 2023. She obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. After completing a large animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia in 2002, Dr. Fischer entered private equine practice where she discovered her true calling of becoming an anesthesiologist. She completed a residency in veterinary anesthesia and pain management at Cornell University and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2008.

Following her residency, she joined a specialty veterinary hospital in Chicago and was integral in establishing one of the first anesthesia and pain management departments in private practice. In 2013, Dr. Fischer was invited to join the faculty at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor where she taught veterinary students and residents before moving to the East Coast. Prior to joining Eastern PA Veterinary Medical Center, Dr. Fischer served as Head of Anesthesia and Pain Management at specialty hospitals in both New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Fischer is the author of several veterinary anesthesia book chapters and has lectured both nationally and internationally. Since becoming boarded, she has continued her education becoming a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner and a certified veterinary acupuncturist. She remains dedicated to promoting and teaching anesthesia and pain management to the veterinary community.

In her free time, Dr. Fischer enjoys spending time with her family. She is passionate about cooking, traveling, and all things outdoors.

Allison Goldberg DVM, DACVAA

Dr. Allison Goldberg, a southern California native, is a board-certified specialist in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia. She received her DVM from Kansas State University in 2016 and completed a rotating internship at VCA ASEC in Los Angeles followed by a residency in anesthesia and analgesia at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2022.
Dr. Goldberg’s professional interests include critical care anesthesia, brachycephalic patients, exotic and large animal anesthesia, and locoregional techniques. Additionally, she is very passionate about providing her patients with a stress-free hospital experience by managing perioperative pain, stress, fear, and anxiety.
In her free time, Dr. Goldberg enjoys spending time with her two dogs Harold and Wyatt, plants, spending time outdoors, and cooking.
