Brian Bretz DVM MBA DACVS

Dr. Brian Bretz grew up in northern California and obtained both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees from the University of California, Davis. He graduated from the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Following graduation, he completed a rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, New Jersey followed by a joint residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University and the MSPCA Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. After being exposed to the management aspects of the veterinary profession, he returned to school to obtain an MBA from the University of Chicago in 2016.

Dr. Bretz enjoys all aspects of surgery including soft tissue, orthopedic, neurologic, oncologic, and minimally invasive procedures. He has also had the opportunity to lecture nationally and internationally on a variety of surgical topics.

In his free time, Dr. Bretz enjoys spending time with his family, running, scuba diving, and traveling.

Melissa Gibson DVM

Dr. Gibson grew up in Staten Island, NY where her love of working with animals began with dog obedience and agility training. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, where she was a member the cooperative living group, Helyar House.

Upon graduation in 2006, Dr. Gibson moved to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts to attend veterinary school at Ross University. She completed her clinical studies at North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated from Ross University in May 2010. She completed a yearlong general internship at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Connecticut, a yearlong surgical internship followed by a surgical residency at Hickory Veterinary Hospital in Pennsylvania. She initially moved to northwest New Jersey where she worked as a staff surgeon and has now joined the Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center surgery department. Her special interests include minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and arthroscopy), orthopedics and neurologic surgeries.

Dr. Gibson lives with her husband, 2 daughters, 5 dogs and a cat in northwest NJ. She enjoys working with all owners and their pets in the hospital!

Stephanie Rosenheck DVM, DACVS

Dr. Stephanie Rosenheck is a board-certified veterinary surgeon who has lived on the east coast, midwest, and west coast throughout her schooling before finally settling back in New Jersey for her internship and residency in small animal surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls. Dr. Rosenheck became board certified in 2016 and has vast experience with surgical orthopedic diseases in dogs and cats, as well as minimally invasive surgery including arthroscopy and laparoscopic surgery. She has a special interest in thoracic, reconstructive and oncologic surgery in her patients.
When not at work, Dr.  Rosenheck can be found with her husband chasing their twins, snuggling their two cats Chicken and Egg, or enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Rosenheck is available for consults and surgery Wednesday and Thursday here at Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center.
